These terms are between you and Pixel Syndicate LLC. Using this site means you accept them. Buying a plan or publishing a profile means you accept them.
What this site is
Pixel Syndicate is a job board and a set of talent profiles.
Companies pay to put a role on the board, to search the profiles, or both. People publish a profile for free and are found by the companies who pay.
Nothing here is an agency. Pixel Syndicate does not represent anybody, does not place anybody, and takes no fee from anything you agree with somebody you met through it.
If you publish a profile
A profile is free and it is yours. You decide to publish it, you can change it whenever you like, and you can take it down at any time without asking.
The address you give is your account. A sign in link is mailed to it, and anybody who can read that mailbox can reach your profile, so keep it to yourself.
Every profile is read by a person before it goes on the board. Publishing is not automatic and submitting a profile is not a promise that it will appear. A profile can be refused, and a profile that is changed after it has been approved goes back to be read again.
What a profile shows to a company that has paid to search is what you put in it, including the contact details you give. That is the point of it: they write to you directly and nothing is routed through us. Do not put anything in a profile you would not hand to a stranger who has paid to look.
A profile is not a job, a lead, or a promise of work. Nothing about publishing one guarantees you will be contacted, shortlisted or hired.
If you buy a plan
Plans are the ones offered at the time you buy. Prices are the ones shown at checkout.
Plans are billed in advance by Stripe and renew automatically at the interval you chose until you cancel. Prices can change, and a change never applies to a period you have already paid for.
Cancel at any time by writing to support@pixelsyndicate.org. Access continues to the end of the period you have paid for and the subscription does not renew. Fees are not refunded, in whole or in part, for a period already begun.
What a plan buys is access. It is not a promise that any particular person is on the board, that anybody will answer you, or that a role will be filled.
If you put a role on the board
Every listing is read before it goes up. A listing can be refused, and a listing that is published can be taken down if it turns out to break these terms.
A listing has to be a real role that somebody stands behind, and the facts asked of it have to be the facts.
Nobody on this board is asked to work unpaid. No spec work, no sample deliverable, no take home exercise, no trial project, and nothing of that kind dressed up as a conversation. A listing that asks for it is refused, and it is refused for everybody on the same terms.
Your conduct
Do not use the profiles for anything other than hiring. Do not scrape them, copy them out, resell them, republish them, or feed them to any system that does. Do not write to somebody on the board about something they did not publish a profile to hear about.
Do not use this site to harass anybody. That ends an account, and no refund is given when an account is ended that way.
You are responsible for what you publish here and for what you do with anybody you meet through it.
Market figures
Any market figures published on this site are compiled from named outside sources and carry the date they were read. They are reference and nothing more. They are not a recommendation, not a rate anybody is asked to hold, and not a price agreed between anybody. What you charge, and what you pay, is yours alone to set.
What Pixel Syndicate does not warrant
The site is provided as it is. There is no warranty that anything on it is complete, current or fit for your situation, and no warranty that the site is uninterrupted or free of errors.
Profiles and listings are written by the people and companies they belong to. They are read before they are published, and reading is not verification: nothing here is a check that somebody is who they say they are, or that a company is what it says it is.
Pixel Syndicate is not a party to any agreement between a company and anybody they hire, does not represent either side, and is not responsible for what either one does.
Ending an account
An account can be ended for breaking these terms, for abusive conduct, or for a chargeback on a paid plan. No refund is given when an account is ended this way.
You can end your own account at any time. If you have a profile, taking it down removes the record. If you have a plan, cancelling stops it renewing.
Limit on liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Pixel Syndicate LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss, for lost profit, or for lost work. Total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid in the twelve months before the claim.
Changes to these terms
These terms can change. The effective date at the top changes with them. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept it.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of the State of California. Any dispute arising from them is heard in the state or federal courts of California, and both sides agree to that.
